BRING BACK MONTY MONTEZUMA

The Aztec Warrior has been a longstanding symbol of pride and tradition at San Diego State University (SDSU) since 1925, admired by alumni, students, donors, and supporters alike. The representation acts as a tribute to the rich Aztec history and heritage, reinforcing the identity and spirit of the SDSU community. This petition urges SDSU to bring back the Aztec Warrior to its rightful place, accompanied by the implementation of educational programs about Aztec history and recognize the established scholarship for a deserving student Warrior.

THIS IS EMBARRASING

SDSU missing mascot

San Diego State is embarrased on the national stage, because De La Torre acted without the input of alumni or SDSU stakeholders and removed the Aztec Warrior. After vowing to respect the decision of the Aztec Identity Task Force to keep the Aztec Warrior and Moniker, she went back on her word.
